Description
First-click tests reveal how users instinctively navigate an interface by tracking the very first element they click on.
This method helps identify whether users can easily find the information or complete the tasks they intend to on a website or app. It's a great for optimising interfaces and improving user experience.
Examples of how to use first-click tests:
Navigation Assessment: Evaluate the effectiveness of your website's navigation by asking participants to click where they would first go to perform a specific task. Example: "You're looking to track your recent order. Please click on the first link you would choose from our homepage to do this."
Call-to-Action (CTA) Effectiveness: Evaluate the visibility and effectiveness of CTAs by analyzing where users click when prompted to complete a specific action. Example: "You're interested in signing up for our newsletter. Click on the button you think will allow you to subscribe."
Error Message Identification: Determine whether users recognize and click on error messages when they encounter issues while using an application or website. Example: "You've encountered an error message while submitting a form. Click where you would go to learn more about the error."
Menu Labeling Review: Test the clarity of menu labels by having participants select where they would click to find specific information. Example: "You want to browse our product reviews. Click on the menu item you think will take you to the reviews section."
