Rating scale question blocks enable respondents to convey their sentiment towards something on a numbered scale

Updated over a week ago

Description

Rating scale question blocks are a crucial tool in survey design, allowing respondents to express their sentiments toward a specific subject or item through a numbered scale. These scales typically range from low to high, with each number associated with a precise meaning or descriptor.

They are a powerful means of gathering comprehensive and structured feedback. Especially for in-depth sentiment analysis, simplifying complex survey topics, and providing both quantitative and qualitative insights when needed.

Examples of how to use Rating scale:

  • Overall Satisfaction: After participants have completed the usability test, ask them to rate their overall satisfaction with the website. Example: "On a scale from 1 to 5, how satisfied are you with your overall experience using our website?"

  • Task Difficulty: Following each task, have users rate the difficulty of that specific task. Example: "How difficult was it to find the product information you needed on a scale from 1 to 5?"

  • Learnability: After users have spent some time exploring the interface, ask them to rate how quickly they grasped the basic functions of the design.

Example: "How quickly did you understand how to navigate the main menu? Please rate from 1 to 5."

  • Trust and Credibility: Gauge users' trust by asking them to rate how trustworthy and credible they find the information provided. Example: "On a scale from 1 to 7, how trustworthy do you find the product reviews on our website?"

  • Likelihood to Recommend: Use a Net Promoter Score (NPS) scale from 0 to 10 to measure users' likelihood to recommend your system to others after the usability test. Example: "On a scale from 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our mobile app to a friend or colleague?"
