Estimating time to complete a response

Recruitment in Ballpark works on the concept of hiring participants based on the amount of time you need them. Recruitment orders are charged on the estimated duration that it will take each participant to complete your study in minutes.

Manually estimating study duration is time-consuming and difficult to do accurately. It's also hard to account for the natural time variation between each participant.

Instead, Ballpark calculates a more reliable estimate using step duration data from thousands of responses, taking into account various factors that influence study completion time.

Why is the estimate different between panels?

Ballpark offers three recruitment panels, which handle duration slightly differently:

  • Standard: Is often used for short surveys. It has a minimum length of 1 minute and increases in 1 minute intervals.

  • The Enhanced and Enhanced B2B panels are best for qualitative, video-based studies. The minimum length for these options is 5 minutes and increases in 5 minute intervals.
